This Slight Change Has Brought Me Peace!

The past couple of years have been filled with so many things to be thankful for. My beautiful wife and I celebrated 28 years of me snoring next to her. My daughter is excelling at life in Ohio. My oldest boy got married and is going to be a Dad soon. I have a senior in high school with big plans to literally build his future. I have a sophomore who has his own business and my youngest is the bright spot that keeps my bride and I young. Or feeling old.

But as a creative, I’ve got to say it’s been rough. Sure, I’m in like 5 bands and I love them all for different reasons, but as a creator it’s been a struggle. I’ve written songs most of my life. The past 2+ years I haven’t written a word. It’s painful actually. Maybe I’m out of things to say. Maybe it’s just a phase. Hopefully, it’s just a phase. Why I’m telling you this I’m not sure. I just wanted to share what I’ve been doing to scratch that itch, as it were.

I’m a knucklehead player. Imposter syndrome runs deep in my noggin. But I can sit down at a piano and come up with a melody pretty quickly. Nothing special, but it helps me trudge through the vacancy. So I’m sharing my YouTube page, which has some of the pieces I’ve been working on, complete with photos and artwork from one of my best friends. Christopher Lawrence. One of these days I’ll put them up on some streaming platform, but for now, I hope they bring you peace.
